David Allison, Sr. of Allegheny Co., PA
My great, great, great grandmother is Mary (Allison) Lea. She was born around 1784 in Pennsylvania to unknown parentage. In 1807, Mary was united in marriage to Robert Lea of Woodville, Allegheny Co., PA. This couple were the parents of 8 children, including David Nelson Lea, my ancestor. Both were members of the United Presbyterian Church in Woodville. Mary passed away in 1857 and is buried at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Woodville (now known as Carnegie). Her father-in-law, was Maj. William Lea, who was fairly prominent in the Woodville area.
I found the following information from Allegheny County: Will, Orphan Court, Deed, Abstracts
Will Abstract---- David Allison Sr.-----St. Clair Twsp.

Will Book# 1--- Page# 351---- No# 266
Wife--- Eleanor

Daughters--- Polly Lea, Jenny, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Sarah
Niece--- Sidney Quillan
I have read where some genealogists have David Sr. married to an Agnes Dick. And also Mary Polly Allison marrying a Timothy French and living in Ohio.
There are so many Allisons with the same name, it is sometimes difficult to separate them!
Does anyone know of any detailed information as to this particular Polly Lea, daughter of David Allison, Sr.? I suspect that it may be possible that this individual is Mary (Allison) Lea. Through my research, I have found several accounts of Marys going by the name, Polly, particularly during that era. I am also interested in learning more about Eleanor, wife of David, Sr. Any input is welcome. Thank you!
