Anna Catharina ALSPACH b: 1785 PA
Hello -
I am trying to solve an age old mystery.
Anna Catharina ALSPACH
d/o Heinrich Reinhardt ALSPACH & Catherine STEIN
b: 12 May 1785 in PA
d: (Medina) OH
spouse: (here's the mystery)
Johannes BENSINGER, s/o Johann Georg BENSINGER, b: 1780
OR
Johann Georg BENSINGER, s/o Johann Georg BENSINGER, b: 1782
Various records have both men listed as spouse to Catharina and father to her children.Records in Zion "Red" Church, Brunswick Twp (then Berks, now Schuylkill) PA list "Johann" and "Johannes" as father of many of the children attributed to this couple.Hence a lot of the confusion. Some researchers that have studied the "Red" Church records say that a "Johann" recorded would indicate "Johannes" and that "Johann Georg" would not have been recorded as just "Johann" but as "Georg".
Anyone have any info on this branch of the ALSPCH (i.e. Heinrich Reinhardt ALSPACH/Catharina STEIN) and their offspring and who they married?
Any thoughts, comments, guidances and solid sources would be appreciated.
Thanks!
