I'm looking for any information on the European origins of the AMAZEEN name. I know the name traces back in New Hampshire to the early 1600s, but I have had no luck in figuring out from where in the Old World those earliest New World Amazeens came. I understand that there are a number of names from western Scotland ending in -zeen (e.g. Culzeen) but pronounced as -heen (e.g. 'Culheen'). Perhaps Amazeen is from the same area, but this is just a theory with no real evidence. Do you know more, or have any educated guesses, about the origins of the Amazeen name? If so, I would be interested and grateful!
