Helen,
I did some more research and have some additional information and a correction on John Brown Amazeen. His mother’s maiden name was indeed Brown. Her name was Helen Chloe Brown (not Sarah Helen) and she married Henry Clay Amazeen.Sarah Helen was her daughter (sister to John).Helen Chloe’s parents (Norman Brown and Chloe A. ???) lived in Waukegan, Illinois which is probably why John was born there. Both Henry and Helen moved to and died in St. Petersburg Florida. That probably explains why John and Aurora also lived in and died in St. Petersburg.Interestingly, John’s sister, Sarah Helen, also lived in and died in St. Petersburg.I did not find a marriage record for Aurora, only the info on the 1930 census that says that her age at her 1st marriage was 28. Assuming an 1878 birth year, that would mean that she was married circa 1906.Also, since she was listed on that 1930 census and on her Florida death record as an Amazeen, I assume that she did not marry Charles Mahy but I am not certain. We would be distantly related provided that John Brown Amazeen was indeed the father of Andrew. There is some support for this in the 1930 census where Andrew’s parents are listed as being born in Wisconsin (Father) and the Philippines (Mother). The Wisconsin birthplace for John Brown is an easy mistake since his parents lived there for well over 40 years.
