My grandfather came over to the USA through Ellis Island in the early 1900's.His Americanized name (changed by the good sisters at St. Columba's School in Youngstown, Ohio) in the 1930's when his boys were in school is "Frank Amedia".I remember him being called and getting mail by the name "Furio Amadio" or "Amedio".We have cousins in Pennsylvania whose names are spelled differently. My grandmother is a "Sack", which is an Americanized name also that likely goes back to Issaco or something similar, I'm told.I want to trace my family roots in Italy.Thank you for any information you can share. We may be cousins!
