I have been trying to find proof positive that the Mary Anna that married John Johnson and/or the Mary Downe that married John Worrell, alias Johnson, is an Amadowne, and the daughter of Roger Amadowne, first found in Salem, MA in 1637. I came to this conclusion early in 1999 while corresponding with Katharine Harbury, but I'm afraid I have not been able to go too far with John and Mary's descendants.
It seemed obvious that John Johnson, who received a coat. a horse, harnis(s?) and cart in settlement of Roger's estate, must be the husband of Roger's daughter. I don't know whether Mary is Sarah or Lydia, both of whom we have no further information on, or is an added daughter born after Lydia and before Hannah, or whatever the situation might be.
I am sending you what I have on John and Mary by email and would appreciate your comments, corrections, and additions to our Association's Amidon family history.Looking forward to hearing from you when you have a chance.
