Sarah Carney, born 1734, was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Clifton) Carney.Sarah Clifton was the daughter of William Clifton. The Cliftons also lived on Little Hunting Creek in Stafford County Virginia. This places the Carney family west of George Washington's Mount Vernon grist mill and whiskey still--somewhere just west of U.S. Route 1 today.
Sarah Carney's husband, John Anderson, was most likely a descendant of Andersons who had lived near George Washington's family off and on since 1664 in Westmoreland, Stafford, and Fairfax Counties, Virginia. These are the same Andersons who knew the Bayley, Mason, Lee, Fitzhugh, Brent, and Scarlett families (Martin Scarlett served in Virginia Assembly in Williamsburg).Notice how two of the friends' names were used as first names of John and Mary's chilren.
The James Anderson/Suit Garland claims are blatantly erroneous material--the evidence against these errors is overwhelming--your errors are holding up "real research" progress on two separate and unrelated lines of Anderson. Here, here--eliminate all the erroneous files so they can no longer be copied--and commit to corrections so progress can resume. Those looking for Rev. James and Suit (Garland) Anderson should look in NY, PA, and Augusta Co., VA.
