George W. Anderson a Civil War soldier in the 12th NJ Infantry died on 7/2/1863 at Gettysburg, PA. He was supposedly buried on the field after dying in the hospital of wounds received in action. He is not listed as being buried in the National Cemetery at Gettysburg. There is a possibility that his body may have been returned to New Jersey for burial and that is what I an trying to ascertain.
It appears that his wife Theresa never remarried, died 10/27/1899 at Gloucester City, New Jersey, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Camden, New Jersey.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Is George also in Evergreen Cemetery in Camden, or elsewhere in New Jersey?
