I'm still looking for information about James Dillard Anderson and Joseph Sterling Anderson, son's of James P. Anderson and Elizabeth Dillard. If they moved from Amherst, Virginia to Montgomery, Tennessee with their parents, they may have moved out of the area before 1840.
Updated/new information concerning the other children of James P. and Elizabeth indicates that William S. Stevens of Tennessee and Kentucky, husband of Mary A. Anderson of Montgomery and Hickman, Tennessee was married twice, with his older children belonging to his first wife Melvena A. Laprade whom he married in Robertson, Tennessee 15 January 1851. They later moved to Graves, Kentucky.
Children of William Stevens and Melvena A. Laprade were:
Virginia "Jennie"Stevens - Abt. 1851-1852 Tennessee.She married Joseph LaPrade.Virginia died 18 Jan 1893 in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Sarah E. Stevens - born 1854 Kentucky.Married John L. Kennedy 30 Nov 1876 in Graves, Kentucky.Sarah died before 1900.
Milton Stevens - 10 Jun 1856 Graves, Kentucky. No more is known about this child.
Melvena LaPrade Stevens must have died between 1860-1862, as William remarried to (2) Mary A. Anderson before November 1863. Mary was shown on the 1860 census in Hickman County, Tennessee living in the home of her parents.
Children of Mary A. Anderson and William S. Stevens were as follows:
Dr. Edwin Alexander Stevens - 17 Nov 1863 of Graves, Kentucky. He married Lillian James Anderson of Mayfield. He died 11 May 1934 in Mayfield.
Gustavus Kelly Stevens - born Apr 1869 in Graves, Kentucky. He married Rosa A Hale.Gus died 1944 in Sarasota, Florida.
W. M. Stevens - 7 Nov 1871 Graves, Kentucky. Nothing more is known of this child.
I'm still trying to locate information concerning Henry B. Anderson born about 1828-1829 Amherst, Virginia. He moved with his parents to Montgomery County Tennessee. The last known information that I can find about him was on 19 Aug 1851 in Montgomery County when he was security for the marriage of an older couple named Mark M. Landrum and Elizabeth Pegram. I'm looking for the connection between these 3 people and any additional information for Henry B. (Beaumont??) Anderson, son of James P. and Elizabeth Dillard Anderson.
In addition to Henry, I'm seeking information about Henry's much younger sister Martha N. Anderson and brothers Alexander W. Anderson and Realdo Anderson.Martha was last shown as 11 years old on the 1850 Montgomery County Tennessee census in her parents home. She was born 1838 in Montgomery County. She may have married in Montgomery or a nearby County before 1840.
Alexander W. Anderson, born 1842 was born in Montgomery County, Tennessee according to his military discharge record. After he was mustered out on 25 Dec 1862 in Mississippi I lose track of him.
Realdo Anderson was only shown on the 1860 census as age 13 in the household of James P. and Elizabeth Anderson after they moved to Hickman County, Tennessee. No other information has been found.
