I am trying to find out more about my husband's grandmother Dolores and her twin Rosemary. The story that I have heard is that at around 6 months old, the twins were given up for adoption (sent to live at St. Vincents Hospital for Children in Philadelphia) and ended up living in foster care throughout out their formative years. According to the 1930 census they were wards of the Catholic Children's Asylum at 70th and Woodland. I contacted the Archdiocese but they say there are no records from the orphanage. My husband and I have gone to the library and searched the newspapers to see if the story about the parents had made it in (we think it involved murder/suicide) but we didn't find anything. The twins were born August 15, 1928. Dolores has dementia currently and Rosemary passed away in 1986. Not much other information is known. Any suggestions on places I might go to track down some more information? I believe there is a whole other family out there that we don't know anything about, but who we are connected to!
