Ms. Hicks.Don't remember if I thanked you for your help with my Andresws link.I appreciate you and your time..so much. Thank You
Still looking for data. Two marriage license's were issued for Andrews and Harriet C. Welch. One in Jan. 1870,one in Feb. 1870. Feb 3, 1870 is the one they used.
They are fund on the 1870 Census as Mr. and Mrs.... the Census statesF. M. Andrews being 24 years old, and a Blacksmith .Lists Harriet being 18.Age correct on Harriet. She was born in the fall of 1852.
The data you have in Pension lists Andrews as age 62 in 1899,which would make his birth year 1837? That would make him about 29 in 1870 as opposed to the age 24 isted.I guess this happens with our ancestors
Strange thing here...and I have no document to prove it as yet... The Andrews / Welch marriage did not survive. We find Harriet C. Andrews marrying Bryant Sermon in 1873 Travis County, Texas? This marriage will last until Sermon passes. About 1892, actual date not known,.Harriet C. Sermon will mary once again, in April,1893.
I find no clue why the Andrews/Welch marriage ended. No divorce document founs as yet....and I do wonder why.....three years, in that time frame....therer just weren't that many divorces...NO CHILDREN, for any mariage as far as I can tell.
Times were hard, especially on a widow.Maybe Harriet had to marry each time she lost a spouse...in order to survive? Maybe we will find out somewwhere down the road.
