It is important for me to correct my post from 2006.I had the wrong generation married to each other. Dumb mistake, writing from memory (what memory) as opposed to the family tree.
Over the years, as I am sure many of you have, I have met numerous cousins on line that have provided lineages in their families and we have been able to determine how we connect within the family. But I have not met one Angle researcher that has provided a reliable lineage prior to Francis Angle in Pike County, Missouri.I have gotten better information on his wife recently shown as "Sally" in the 1850 census. Her maiden name, Margaret Eaton, appears on her son, George K. Angle's, death certificate (b 31 Jan 1835, died 24 May 1910 Ashburn, MO) available through the State of Missouri Vital Records on line.
My line derives from Francis (aka Frank) and Margaret Angle's son, George K.'s brother, Moses Kelly Angle and wife Sarah Weathers Adams. His son, John Moses Angle, was married to Mariah Boone Kincaide (I have a copy of the marriage certificate and have been in touch with descendents of Mariah's brother, Thomas). They have a good family history, because Mariah is a descendent of Daniel Boone's brother, Edward, (on several materal lines).A lot of work has been done on the Kincade family.
I have the names of siblings from several generations, and have collected some primary sources to verify the census records but I have a long way to go. I recently met in person a descendent of John's brother, Henry Clay Angle.
One of several of John and Mariah Angle's sons, is my ggrandfather, Carson Angle, who changed the family name to Angel and moved to Oakland / Berkeley California in the early 1900's around 1903 after having served in the Army in San Francisco in the late 1800's.Several of Carson's brothers and and a sister, Maude, and mother, Mariah, followed and moved to Dos Palos, Merced Co., California in the Central Valley.Good information about this family in Dos Palos including good obit information and family notes.Carson's brother, Elmer Kincaid Angle, was the first mayor of the little town and their brother, Warren had a very large family. I ran into someone in Dos Palos that had worked for Warren's son, Carson Lloyd Angle b 2 May 1914 for 40 years and gave me a good description of him.
I would be interested in family members that descend from Francis Angle for the purpose of finding where he was born. Both Franklin Co, VA and Welsh Run, Pennsylvania look promising, with lots of Angles, but I haven't found the connection yet.
Have v-e-r-y slowly started an Angle DNA project, but need to find the time to begin the website.I work full time and am very active in my community so there is little time to do this right now.My father was the first participant. If there is any one that is motivated and has time to help, please let me know.We can use lots of participants with family histories to include birth dates and places, marriage dates and places, spouse names, and death births and place (to the extent available and known.) Connections and family lines will be established.
I am somewhat active in another YDNA project and the developments have been very interesting. The lineage on this line that married my Carson's son, Craig Carson Angel, had 50 years of research and so far every DNA test in my line has been confirmed.
I would encourage any male Angle family members in the this Francis line to participate as well to help confirm the research and family histories already documented, but really need to pull together the larger Angle community.
