There is more detail on Peter, Dewalt and his ancestors than is given here. I hope that I have deciphered this correctly as the book is hard to follow.
Dewalt Anconi a Colonial Pioneer. One of the Pioneers in the later Colonial Period of Pennsylvania and the father of other Pioneers, of the Revolutionary Period is the subject of this sketch, Dewald Ankeny, an immigrant who arrived on these shores in the year 1746. This fact is found in the list of immigrants or passengers on the Ship Neptune, which arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on October 25, 1746. The name was given there as Dewalt Ancony. We shall find that both his names were given in those early days under various spellings.) On the same ship was one Caspar Dewalt, said to have been an uncle, ? a brother to his mother. In the list of those who took the oath of allegiance to the king on the same date, his age was given as 18; so from that we get the date of his birth as the year 1728, which may or may not be exactly right. The list of immigrants can be found in the book of immigrants from the Rhine Palatinate, and Switzerland,by Strassburger-Hinke.
