Here' as far as I have gotten...and apparently all the Applegarths get tied together sometime in early England.

George Wm. Applegarth (1814) from Bishop Middleham, Durham Co, England..married Mary Heatherington(1820) fromStaindrop , England Children: John F. born in W.Va.1839 Mary E."'"1841 George1843 David1845 Robert born in England 1847 Frederick """1852 Alexander born in Ohio 1855 Eliza??1859
John F ( my great-great grandfather) married Mary Jane Rufer (1840) somewhere on the Ohio/W.Va. border Children: Rosalee?? David James 1845 John Franklin 1864 Albert Allison 1877
John Franklin (1864)(my great grandfather) married another Mary ?(1867) in the same area, and lived in Pultney Township on the Ohio River in West Wheeling, Ohio. Children Mary E. John E. Cecil F. Clarence
John E ( My grandpa) married Lura McAllister ( my angel and Gram) in Moundsville, W.Va. in 1910...and resided in Belmont County, Colerain Township. Children Edward Clarence Robert Maggie A. Harry Russell ( living in Conn) Fred( living in Barton,Ohio) Jerry
Maggie A.( my Mom) married Wm. Robert Canter and therefore starts the Canter branch of the family.
The history of this branch is in coal mining and was passed down from generation to generation until it stopped with me.
As you can see George and Mary made several trips back and forth to England, having kids in both countries.
