I am looking for anyone who might be researching Richard H. Law and Anne Archdale from Yorkshire England. We believe this is the couple who was married in Yorkshire in 1830 ended up in the United States in Missouri.
According to all source information this US couple I am researching were both born in England. There first American event was to see them buying land in Howard County, Missouri in 1836.
Their children include: George Law 1837 Howard County, MO Margareta Law 1840 Howard County, MO Emily Law 1841 Howard County, MO Sophia Law 1842 Howard County, MO
After 1846 we no longer see Richard Law (probably died in Missouri) and his wife shows up in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA as the head of a broading house in the 2nd Muni district on the 1850 census.
We think sometime before 1856 Ann remarries a man named Leland in New Orleans. We see her signing permission for her 16 year old daughter Margareta to marry Thaddeus Damascus Van Horn in 1856 in New Orleans. Not much more is known about her after this point.
I am trying to connect the English Richard H. Law and Anne I see in Missouri to the Richard Law and Ann Archdale that married in Yorkshire, England in 1830. Anybody working on that line?
