Dana,
I'm not sure if this helps, I'm running blind on the Arey family, I just know an Arey female married my ggrandfather, John Joshua Fowler in Plymouth Plantation, MA.I know from family legend that the Areys were fishermen, lobster and whale, in the Cape Cod area. One family legend is that one Arey relative was a captain of a whaler, and his is the statue in Cape Cod.Of course, I have yet to get confirmation of this.
Your Robert Arey is the right age to be a sibling or cousin of my unknown Arey female.
If any of this helps, or if you've gotten more information, please email me!I've hit so many brick walls on this line, Arey seems to be a common name in all of New England during the 1750-1850 era.
Thank you,
Sheila
