16. Will of John Armytaige of Thermitage [i.e. The Hermitage in Yorkshire dialect], p of Almondbury, yeoman, 29 Nov 1590, proved 22 Apr 1591.

To be buried Almondbury (31 Dec 1590)

Names:
       Wife Agnes
       Four children, John, Beatrix, Dorothy & Grace (specifies four)
       Eldest son Nicholas
       Daughter Anne, wife of Henry Swallow
       Daughter Elizabeth, wife of James Beaumont,
       Daughter Mary, wife of Roger Swallow
       Youngest son Godfrey

Notes: Son & heir named in 8.According to Nowell Agnes was Agnes Castle married at K'burton 21 Aug 1564.Nicholas must have been from an earlier marriage, John bapt A'bury 06 Dec 1565.Godfrey bapt 10 Oct 1568, probably married Mary Smith of Thornhill there 23 Sep 1602.

17. Will of Roger Armytaige of Honley 14 Aug 1591 proved 01 Dec 1591

Names:
       Jane wife of Anthony Crosley, relationship not stated
       Wife Janet
       Four children Edith, Susanne, Sara & Joseph
       Robert son & heir aged less than 20
       Supervisor John Armytage
       
Note: In 15 Collins considers he was the son of John Armitage senior.

Comment:
       The baptisms of all of these children can be found in the Almondbury PRs dated between 1584 & 1589.
