I've been contacted by a man from New Zealand who has come into the possession of medals which belonged to Robert Sinclair Mitchell Armour who was born in South Africa in 1889.He later went to N.Z. and worked as a horse trainer, joining the army in 1916, he served in France as a farrier. He was unmarried and gave his next of kin as Capt. J.S.M. Armour, 1st. Garrison Brigade Scottish Rifles Hamptee C.P. India.R.S.M. Armour died at Wyndham, N.Z. in 1943.Of course it would be good to be able to have these medals go to a member of the family of this Mr. Armour.Seeing that you have an interest in the Armour name in both South Africa and India, I thought a message to you might just be a good idea.I'd love to hear from you if you know anything of R.S.M. Armour.
