TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Lyman M. Armour, 89, of Traverse City, formerly of Holt and Naples, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Born Oct. 14, 1915, in Ionia, he was the son of the late Barrett and Carrie (Babcock) Armour. On Feb. 7, 1936, in Holt, he married the former Virginia M. Miller, who survives.
Lyman was a longtime and faithful employee of General Motors, retiring as a supervisor after 39 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by his children, Jack (Bette) Armour of Traverse City, Paul J. (Shirley) Armour of Lake Martin, Ala., Judy (Larry) Soule of Mason and Tom (Lex) Armour of Buckley; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Lyman was preceded in death by his two sisters, Frances and Pauline.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at 1 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. David McIntyre will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions or to the Alzheimer's Association.
