Thanks for your reply on the forum. I found both it and James ARNFIELD's follow up most interesting. You can see from my posting to James that I believe that his Joseph and your Joseph are not one and the same person.
I have quite a lot of data on your family, much of it from Jeffrey SWANN's tree which I received from your grandmother, Dinah. Presumably you also have a copy of that. I would see Joseph as Dudley's g-grandfather rather than his grandfather (Thomas Owen ARNFIELD being grandfather); would you agree?
I have linked this tree with some other information that I already had but I don't think I went far enough back to tie it in with the pedigree with which I associate James. Yours I have back to 1806 and his to 1800. Presumably they link up earlier than that.
I am sure we can swop lots of data, perhaps by e-mail as it might be a bit specific for the forum as a whole. Although my primary interest is with the immediate link to John OWENS, I have become interested in this family in general, whether or not they turn out to be indirectly linked to me. I also know people at Manchester University who would be interested to meet current members of your branch of the family.
