Benedict Arnold,(not the traitor), who copied off his father's collection of records, became the 1st Governor of Rhode Island and put that information in his memoirs. William Arnold did not copy down all of the reccords. He seemed to have left out the ones who died --not all of them. That is why I made a trip to Salt Lake, which has the largest genealogy collection in the USA.To see what they had. I found the Dwelly books. He had gone all over Somersetshire, England and copied Ignore the work by Somerby, because he did very sloppy incorrect work. Edson Salisbury Jones made a trip to Somerset County in England and copied some of the people. He said Wiliam Arnold'
Yes there are Arnold books. My daughter was so pleased with the one by Fred A. Arnold " An Account of the English Homes of Three Early "Proprietors" of Providence, that she copied the entire manuscript from internet. Cousin Fred quoted William's words and family names.
By the time Dwelly, an Englishman started copying the records, much had disintgrated.The people, who were supposed to preserve them, let their condition deteriorate.
