Hi,
What a stroke of luck to find your message!Ida Belle Atterbury was my grandmother on my mother's side.Siebert and Ida's son Byron Oliver is my grandfather. He died when I was only 4 years old in Redding,California Feb. 23, 1972.I have info from a book my parents made for me regarding my our family tree. Here is what my mom, Barbara wrote regarding Siebert and Ida Belle:
Siebert Guy Porter-born May 1, 1875 in Greystone Co. Virginia. Died on April 19, 1952.
Ida Belle Atterbury-born July 10, 1900(?) in Missouri.Died 1950.
After marrying, they lived in Springfield and Pueblo, Colorado. They earned their living by farming crop's of beets, potatoes and corn. They had 4 children, Byron, Lorice, Hazel and Agnes.Siebert had 2 boys from a prevous marriage, Everett and Donald.
Siebert and Ida divorced when their kids were teenagers.Ida married Bill Trenholm in 1937 or 38.They met working the ship yards in Richmond, Calif. then moved and lived in Ely, Minnesota.
I hope you find this information helpful! My mom really had to push my grandma for it before she died in 1999 (my grandma not my mom!).I'm interested in where this side of the family originated from.My grandad Byron looked very native american. We always thought that a bit strange!Any information is very much appriciated.I know my mom would love it as she knows very little about her dad's family.I have more information on Ida's children if you would like it.My Aunt Lorice is still alive and going strong but I think she is the last one alive.
email me anytime.I would love to hearfrom you.
