Hi Karen,
Please go to GenForum post #323 to read the truth about this alleged Dorothy Ross and her supposed marriage to John Asbill.
The Asbill Y-DNA Project has proven without any doubt that George Bennett's published book has many fabricated connections that Asbill/Asbell researchers have unfortunately incorporated into their genealogies leading to major errors in relationships that are in need of restructuring.
The repeated regurgitation of this misinformation has made it virtually impossible to compile the true genealogies of the various lines claiming ancestry back to Martin Asbell.
Many former Asbill/Asbell researchers have become so discouraged by this disclosure that they have retreated from active research altogether rather than regrouping and beginning anew on the path as guided by the DNA results.
The Asbell line (my family) that moved to Fulton Co., KY is not directly related to the Asbill line that settled in Madison Co., KY.
