Yes, this is my family's cemetary. My great-grandparents were Charles Manuel and Ella Hobbs Asbell and they are buried in this cemetary as are my great-great-grandparents, James and Elizabeth. My grandparents, Charles Edna and Jennie Hollowell Asbell are buried at Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church, as are my parents, Carlton Emerson and Blanche Mansfield Asbell.
I live less than a mile from the cemetary on Happy Home Rd.I believe the cemetary is located there because it was an Asbell homeplace, I'm just not sure which Asbell. The family that owns that land refers to it as the "Asbell Farm".There is still a house standing in the woods on the same path with the cemetary. That was the home of Amos Kenneth Asbell.I currently live on land that my great-grandfather donated for a local 2-room school house.Actually, I live in the schoolhouse. My grandparents purchased the school and land from the county and converted it into a home back in the late 1930s.
If you send me your email address, I will email you the photos. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.comI will be glad to share these with you.I've never had a problem with snakes back there, although we did have a problem with rattle snakes a couple of years ago in the neighborhood. The sand back there is terrible.,,has been all my life.
