A bit more information. Margaret Lewis nee Aubrey (d. 1844 Cardiff) wife of David Lewis (1796-1860 and Mayor of Cardiff in 1854) was in fact my great great great grandmother! Her daughter Maria Lewis (1818-1876) m. John Owen (1805-1876), son William Frank Owen (1854-1897) m. Selina Maud Rees (1851-1933), son John Aubrey Owen (1878-1917) m. Gwendoline Mary Morris (1879-1963), son Douglas Aubrey Owen (1909-1964) m. Patricia Joan Griggs (1918-1968); I am their son John Aubrey Owen, my son is Charles Aubrey Owen. You can see why I want to find out about the Aubreys! Margaret appears only in the 1841 census. She is living in Quay Street Cardiff aged 41 born in the County with her husband David 43 rope maker and d. Ellen 9. However the ages in the 1841 census are give or take 5 years and the Y for born in the County is not always reliable so she might have been born in Glamorgan or in Bristol where she married. The memorial inscription in Llandaff Cathedral is more likely to be accurate. It says "ob. 1844, aet. 47" which means she was born about 1796/7.
