Julie, Hello. I too am a SE MO Aubuchon. I'm not sure which minority you are speaking about, but I'm sure everyone that is posting here that is doing any serious research knows of the Frenchman's ways in the 1700's. In my line, Antoine Aubuchon two indian slave sons, one named Louis and one Baptiste. They were called creoles because they were bi-racial. Their mother's name was Marianne. In those days not only African-Americans were slaves but also Native Americans which is an inhumane subject of it's own. I'm sure that you don't have to prove anything to this board and we welcome you as an Aubuchon. My Antoine had a daughter named Elizabeth that married into my Thomure family. Remember we cannot change what our ancestors did, we can only improve on it.
