Obit - AUDET, Hilda
AUDET, Hilda
AUDET, Hilda With sadness we announce the passing of Hilda Audet, at Kelowna General Hospital on Friday, May 1, 2009. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1975, and her brother Alfred. She is survived by her daughters; Shirley Rochon (Armand) and Elaine Borden (Lorne Ettinger) and grandchildren Janis and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Celise, Wesley, Tyler and Jordyn and many nieces and nephews. Hilda is also survived by three sisters, Agnes Rouleau, Rose Larson and Margaret Paul, all residents of Alberta. Born in Cut Knife, SK, on the 6th of February, 1917, Hilda grew up experiencing the challenges of the time, which developed her hardiness, survival skills, strong work ethic, and love for family. At age 18, Hilda moved to Eaglesham, AB, with husband Albert. Together they built a life around several businesses, and ultimately retired to Kelowna, BC in 1962. Hilda was perpetually active in gardening, church and social bridge. Committed to her Church life, she spent many hours daily at the Immaculate Conception Church. Hilda made many new friends in her latter years at her home at Wedgewood and her strong spirit allowed her to live independently right up until her last day. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 7:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave. Interment will follow at a later date at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests that donations be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association: 202 - 1456 St. Paul St., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.
