Understood.But I would encourage you to continue the search.In many places, the German churchbooks (Lutheran and Catholic) have survived from the 18th century if not much of the 17th as well, so it's not necessarily impossible to trace a German-American family back to its roots.And here, it looks as though others have already done much of the work for you, at least if the West Texas Aults tie in with those who came to Pennsylvania in the colonial period.Fortunately, Ault is a rather rare surname, so that helps a great deal in zeroing in on the right people.I had a great experience some years ago in visiting the village where my Hufford (Hoffarth) ancestors originated, in the verdant hills east of Heidelberg.If you can get out of the cities, it's a beautiful country.
