Abner Averitt (1770-1827) was married to Elizabeth Dulin (not "Dublin").Her father was Rice Dulin, a fairly prominent North Carolinia.
Abner Averitt's daughter Mary Ann Avirett (1806-1860) married Dr. Malcolm Nicholson (1789-1840), the son of Scottish immigrants, who was born in Chesterfield County SC, practiced medicine in Burke County GA, and then settled in Gadsden County FL in the early 1820's.He acquired some 4,000 acres of land and became a planter. The house he built circa 1828 is still standing.Just east of the house is the Nicholson-Freeman Cemetery, in which are buried Malcolm; Mary Ann; and various other Nicholsons, Averitts, and McGriffs.
