St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, Nov 26, 1936, 2 Daughters of the Late Mrs. W. Ayers Sue Coroner Keiser. As an aftermath of the fatal injuries of Mrs. Gertrude Ayers, widow of Wm. J. Ayers, both old time residents of St. Charles, the daughters of Mrs. Ayers have started suit against Justice W. A. Keizer of Geneva, whose car struck and injured Mrs. Ayers last December 4.
Suit was filed Saturday for the amount of $10,000 by the daughters, Frances Gertrude Caldwell and Jewell Phoebe Ayers, named executrixes of the last will and testament of Mrs. Ayers who filed their allegations through their attorneys.
The bill recites that Judge Keiser was driving east in East State street when, at the intersection of Nebraska street, he ran into Mrs. Ayers who was walking north on Nebraska. The impact, the bill alleges, knocked her to the ground, causing injuries from which she died.
A coroner's jury returned a verdict of accidental death finding that Judge Keiser was not to blame for the accident and the subsequent death.
Justice Keiser is deputy coroner of Kane Co. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
