Pat,
Wish I could help, but I couldn't find this guy in 1881 either, though from your reference to Camberwell it sounded as if he might have been associated with his cousin Frederick, who was a solicitor's clerk there. The name is in fact Aminadab, which is biblical, but it gets spelt in all sorts of ways being so unusual. I do have a Harry Aylett in Camberwell who is a law writer age 28 born Colchester - is this a mistranscribe of Aminadab? I had him down as likely to be the son of Aminadab senior (and brother of Frederick), who might (or might not) be a brother of William: certainly that William called his son by this name suggests they were some relation. It occured to me though that maybe Aminadab jnr got tired of the name and choose to be known by some middle name, in which case I suppose he could in fact be Harry (I do have an alternative candidate for the son of Aminadab snr who in any case was certainly not born in Colchester). I found neither Harry in the 1901 index, but one of them died in 1884 - more likely to be the other one though as he was a couplke of years older and this corresponds to an Abney Park burial in that year. I'd be very grateful if you could share your 1871 and 1881 data since i am still trying to unravel all the Colchester families of which he was part. Ruth Aylett
