I have a document from the Historical and Genealogical Record of North Carolina dated July, 1932 by a R.B.Babington, Atlanta Georgia. My research into this document shows with some certainty that this is Robert Benjamin Babington, Robert Kenneth Babington's father. For all Baber's concerned. This document states quite clearly , quote "A history of the Biggerstaff family would not be complete without a sketch of the Baber family, with which it is so closely related. The Babers are of English decent, the name appearing in many old records of England. The Baber immigrants to this county landed in Virginia and there name appears in the 1790 census for that state. William Baber, progenitor of the Rutherford Babers came to Rutherford county, N.C. about 1800". Continueing later in the doc., "Three of the daughters married Biggerstaff brothers". It sounds as if your grandfather carried on the legacy of genealogical research. I for one am greatful.
