I am researching Job BACORN (b 1735?, d 1803 in Fayette Co PA). He married Rhoda WHEELER, of Whippany, Hanover Twp, Morris Co NJ in 1760 at the First Presb Ch in Morristown, Morris Co. In 1762-65 he applied for an ordinary (tavern) license in Morris Co. In 1776 a poll list places him again in Morris Co NJ.
Migrated to Hampshire Co VA (now WV), where he received a land grant on Cabbin Creek, which he sold in 1779 to Moses TICHENOR (also from Morris Co NJ).
Job and John (a brother?) BACORN received another grant in Hampshire or Hardy Co VA in 1789. In 1787 a Jobe BAKEHORN is listed in Hampshire Co Personal Property Tax Lists. The same year he bought land in Monongalia Co VA (also now WV).
By 1798 Job relocated to Georges Tp, Fayette Co PA, where he died in 1803 (will, deeds). Job and Rhoda had one known child, Mary BACORN, who married Samuel PEARMAN. A story (source unknown) says Job was captured by Indians in 1757.
Would like to hear from anyone researching this line.
