Roy T. Bailey, 78, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, departed
this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Wellmont
Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He
was born November 10, 1934.
Mr. Bailey was the owner/operator of Bailey Auto Sales,
Truck City and Equipment, and Bypass Convenience Center.
He was also active in residential construction. He loved
time spent on the lake with Phyllis in their houseboat. He
was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Charles
and Wilma Delma Bailey; and brother and sister-in-law,
Charles 'Chuck' and Charlotte Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Bailey of
the home; son, Michael Bailey and wife Jennifer, of
Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Chandler, Gavin,
Garrett and Ella Grace; nephew, Alan Bailey and wife
Sandy, of Church Hill, TN; three nieces, Rhonda Sue
Bailey, of Kingsport, TN, and Katie and Carrie Dickerson,
of Gray, TN; and brother-in-law, Bill Dickerson and wife
Nancy, of Gray, TN.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, from
5 p.m. until 7 p.m., in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial
Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will
follow with Pastor David Salley officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 26,
2013, at 11 a.m., in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
