It's brilliant to hear from you! I have managed to get in touch with a descandant of one of my John's children by his second wife, so it's great to hear from a descandant of his brother. I would LOVE to hear all about the fibs and things that Thomas told your aunties, and I don't know anything about his wife's family at all.
It's interesting that John and Edward (who remained in the Black Country) were known as BEALE rather than BALE - I was wondering if this could be to do with the Black Country accent? (try pronouncing BALE in a Black Country brogue and you'll see what I mean!).
Please do email me, my email address (if you don't have it) is firstname.lastname@example.org.....I will add you to my list of contacts and then whenever I turn up new info about our ancestors I can forward it on to you. I'll also send you everything I have to date :)
I have a copy of the marriage certificate of John BAIL and Mary Ann MARTIN in Trevethin in 1849 - I can get it scanned and send you a copy if you would like it. Do you have a birth cert for Thomas?
Hope to hear from you soon! By the way, we are third cousins once removed :)
