Clifford Palmer Banks Sr., of Manderson Circle in Hephzibah, Waynesboro, GA, died on Sunday, July 5, 2009. Born November 7, 1942, in Waynesboro, GA, he was 66 years old.
Mr. Banks is a veteran of the United States Army. He retired in 1981 as a Sgt. First Class. He was a member of Botsford Baptist Church and attended South Haven Baptist Church. After his retirement from the military, he attended Augusta Technical College and studied air conditioning and heating. He worked at several local apartment complexes. He also worked as an attendant at DeLoach Funeral Home for more than 30 years.
Mr. Banks is survived his wife, Brenda Banks; his children, Clifford P. Banks Jr. and wife Tammy, of Johnston, SC, James W. Banks and wife Tammy, of Waynesboro, and his daughter, Kristy D. Dozier and her husband Pedro, of Hephzibah; grandchildren, Amanda Banks, Clifford James Banks, Savanna Banks, Dominique Smith, and Amarion Smith; and brother, John P. Banks and his wife Alice, of Rome, GA.
The service was conducted on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA.
Committal services with military honors followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro. Rev. Keith McFeely, Rev. Michael Rochester, and Craig Kennedy officiated.
