I've been away without computer access, hence the delay in responding. I've made no progress in identifying the parish/town referenced on "my" Bannon grave in Calvary Cemetery. Have you found anything that locates your Bannons in Ireland?
With a marriage 1865/65, your Catherine Bannon could certainly be a sister of my Owen who married a Catherine Connelly, probably in NYC, before 1866 when the first child I know of was born. They lived on Thomas St in lower Manhattan. Their children, all born in NYC, were John (1866), Mary (1868), Ann (1869), Michael (1871), Catherine (1873), Eugene (1875). Only Mary(my gt-grandmother) and Michael lived to adulthood.Mary married Peter Coyle in 1890 and died in 1894.Michael died single in 1910. I'll have to check my files, but I think I've seen the O'Reilly surname somewhere -- possibly among the godparents of the children.
