Hi, David -- I descend through Leonetti, Scarcello, Staine, Oliverio, and more as soon as I find them. I strongly recommend if you have an LDS center near you, to get the registrato records of death, birth, and marriage. As researchers of Italy, we are especially fortunate, to have these records. Go to familysearch.org, go to Library, then do Place search.I think there are about 8 rolls total. I just started on two.I am a novice. I copied the death indexes from 1889 to 1899. There are enough Barcas to make it work the $3.95 you'll have to pay to borrow the films. As an example, 1886, Alex or Alessandrina Barca.1887, Rosina Maria Barca.1889, Pietro Barca. The people of Pedace are the best, aren't they? aw, you may also wish to get yourself a book that has the official forms translated along with professions.I had a cheat sheet, and it isn't enough. But then, I don't speak the language.Yet.
