You just confirmed my suppositions about Ninevah being the son of James Barnes and Sarah Carter. From my Y-DNA test (actually my brother submitted the samples to familytreedna) it was confirmed that we descend from Brinsley Barnes, but I couldn't connect my gg grandfather James Barnes to Brinsley. Then I came up with Ninevah and Nancy Austin Barnes after noting that one of James' daughters was Nancy Barnes Fesler, and one of her sons was named Austin.
The only children I can name belonging to Ninevah/Nancy are Sarah, b 1797 NC, m John G. Mullican, res in Warren Co, TN.Next is William Barnes who m Sarah Durham. He was born in NC and went to DeKalb Co AL before moving to Linn Co, MO.I show next my gg grandfather, James, b 1801 NC, m Mary (Polly) Watkins b 1801 NC.Their children were born in Warren Co TN with the exception of one or two of the younger ones.(I'll send you the list later if you're interested). My g grandfather John Barnes b 1819 or 1823 TN m 1)Minerva Fesler in Pike Co IL; they had William and Henry Barnes; m 2) my g grandmother Mary Jane Luyster, their children being Elizabeth, Charlotte, Amanda, David, James, Jehu and Charles. My grandfather was Jehu Barnes, b 1868 Marion Co IA, m Louisa Simpson 1890 Livingston Co MO. Grandfather Barnes died in 1920, so I never knew him.He and Granny had 12 children, of which 4 boys survived to adulthood. My Dad was Orvil Barnes b 1898,MO, m Jewell Thacker in Jackson Co MO 1927.
One other child of Ninevah/Nancy that I know of is, guess if you can--Ninevah Barnes, b 1810 TN, m Sabrina Watkins, Mary Watkins sister.I feel certain they had other children, but I've lost them after 1824 in Warren Co TN. My g gf John/Mary Jane joined Ninevah/Sabrina in Marion Co IA where they lived for several years.(I have this Ninevah's picture.)
I can't thank you enough for answering my query.I've been reading your postings for years, thinking that we probably were related, but couldn't quite put it together.
