Thank you for the help regarding Mr. Poole's Family Tree.Had a nice little letter going with plenty of questions for you, but as have stated before not too good with computers and shot it off into cyber space...sigh.
See if can remember what had questions about and sorry to trouble you but know you have done extensive research on the men under Col Fannin's command.Make it short and sweet here and ask about James H. Barnwell and John H. Barnwell and did you find them to be the same person from Georgia? Then there is the question of whether John H. Barnwell and John N. Barnhill were in fact the same person from Georgia?
Have reason to believe that perhaps some of these accounts and records may have been wrong or mixed up, but that still leads back to the Carter and related families of Feliciana Parish, LA being the heirs of John N. Barnhill?
Another question for you is that William and Daniel Barnhill both filed land claim in Comanche Co, Texas, the same county that land was awarded to the heirs of John N. Barnhill and wonder if that is just a concidence?
Both William and Daniel Barnhill's claims are less than ten years after the Milan Bounty awarded to the heirs of John N. Barnhill. Not sure who this William Barnhill was but know that Daniel Barnhill was the son of William Barnhill, Jr. who first claimed a land patent in Texas.
At some point intend to look at some of these records at Austin, Texas so maybe you can advise me on what to look at since I have only researched online and at the library?
Can tell you about microfilm first hand though and a person could lose their eye sight...smiling.
