One however finds, since 1800, some plausible indications in the acts of the Registry office, referring to the birth of a groom or deceased, but without more. For the posterior period with the French revolution, the registers of the Registry office were examined for us by Mrs HIERONYMUS, member of GELUX. How it is thanked here for it!
Within the framework of the search of the BARNICH, the descendants of this branch of Hobscheid started to be listed as from the moment when one as of their, Me Roger LEGRAND (lawyer in Arlon now deceased) comuniqué us the copy of an act of German procuration written, and sent of Sheboygan, in Michigan. This notarial act, writing for the account of Johann Franz BARNICH in 1866 (just at the end of the American Civil War), gave his/her brothers and sisters the authorization to proceed to the sale of the goods of their parents. Later, we will find several of these brothers and sisters in the censuses of Michigan: they yielded thus to the prayers of Johann, and emigrated towards Sheboygan! At present, I am always in correspondence (via Compuserve!) with William George Barnich III, insurance broker in Saline/MI, and descendant of Jean, younger brother by Johann Franz!
It however did not leave all, and one finds some representatives of this branch in Sterpenich, Barnich and Arlon (and of course, from there, towards Brussels!). Theodore BARNICH, elder brother of Johann Franz, for example, was a teacher with Sterpenich, and took part in the drafting of the directory of Luxembourg communes, works collective known under the generic name of " TANDEL ". Among the descendants of Theodore, one can quote Colonel Rene ALZIN, secretary-general and assistant Commander of the Large-Ducal Army!
Like of Luxembourgers, one numbers finds much Barnich railroad worker. They will migrate slowly towards the capital. Today, Brussels and its agglomeration shelter several downward families of this branch of Hobscheid. Who didn't intend to speak about Barnich pharmacists?
