William Thomas Barron married Missouri Ann Huckabee of Pike County on August 7, 1849, they lived near Magnolia until 1864.They moved to Amite County soon after the War Between the States.On July 4, 1879 Missouri Ann died and was buried above the family home, this was the start of the Old Barron Cemetery (Amite County).
The old Barron home was constructed out of logs and the bricks fired on the grounds.The magnolia tree still stands on the site of the old home.
