Friedrich Wilhelm Sachse, born September 4, 1825, in Raguhn, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany (then in the Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau), who died on July 25, 1873, in St. Louis, Missouri, United States; and
Johanne Sophie Friederike Barthel, born August 28, 1826, in Raguhn, who died on January 18, 1899, in St. Louis.
Friedrich and Johanne married in Raguhn on February 26, 1854, and emigrated from Hamburg in 1864 with five children: Friedrich, Ernst, Paul, Charles and Albert.
Friedrich's parents were Wilhelm Sachse and Marie Andreae.
Johanne's parents were Gottlieb Barthel and Henriette Christiane Zwarg. Her ancestral surnames included Biermann, Athenstedt, Inschin, Friedel, Koch, Maul and Buechert. They all lived in the neighboring villages of Raguhn and Jessnitz.
