I'll answer your last question first. No, my brother Ray is the direct line of Nathaniel, as I am. According to the "Sisson" reaseachers, whom I believe are very concientious researchers have told me that brother Ray is the closest Sisson to theModal Sisson so far.
The Nathaniel B Sisson, found in Searcy County Arkansas is listed with my father, Wm Franklin Sisson, b 1896.
Mary is Mary Susan Joyce, daughter of A M Joyce, Listed in the 1880 census, AR. Nathan died Aug 11 1904. All of the children were young. My Sisson family moved to Colorado in 1923. They are in the 1930 census in Fremont County, Colorado. I am 11 mo old in that census listed as "Clara", my first name is Clairolyn. I go by my middle name, Elizabeth.
I have one brother named "Bartley" after his grandfather. Aunt Maggie Dad's youngest sister, b Dec 31,1900 said that's wrong; his name was Bartlett. I have looked at
"Bartley's", but not as closely as I have looked at the Bartett surname.
I would think my father would know the name of his own father. My parents put the stones on his grave as Nathaniel Bartley Sisson. Both Nathan and Mary are buried in Henderson Cem near the little town of Pangburn, AR, where all of his children were born. Nathan was a Justice of the Peace in Searcy,White County, 1901-1903. I have found most of Aunt Marrie's information has been misleading, so maybe the Bartlett is indeed wrong.
