MYRON E. BARTLETT is a son of William and Elmina Bartlett, natives respectively of New Hampshire and Vermont, who came to Wyoming County in 1820 and settled in Orangeville, and in 1846 removed to Warsaw, Wyoming Co., NY. They had a family of eight children, of whom Myron E. Bartlett, born in Orangeville, NY, May 7th, 1831 was the fourth. At twenty-one he began to study law with L.W. Smith, and attended school until 1853, when he went to Ohio, and remained there until 1857. Returning to Warsaw, NY he resumed his law studies with Thayer & Smith, and was admitted to the bar in May, 1860. He practiced his profession until Oct., 1862, when he enlisted as first lieutenant in Company D, 136th N.Y. volunteers, and served until discharged, when he returned to Warsaw, NY. He was married Nov. 23rd, 1853 to CORDELIA E. McFARLIN, daughter of Harvey and Polly McFarlin, of Twinsburgh, Ohio. They have four children. Mr. Bartlett has held the office of justice of the peace.
