Rev. Flavel Bascom who came to Chicago in 1833 and who thirty-two years ago drove to this place from Chicago with Rev. Savage, to introduce Rev. S. to the Congregational church here, preached at the Congregational church last Sabbath morning and evening. In the morning he presented the claims of the American Missionary Association, which works among the colored people of the south.
