I believe Elizabeth Ann to have been the only child of Benjamin Bassel and Susannah Jackson.
Benjamin Bassel was born in Litchfield CT 2/17/1785. An entry in the Mormon family history site indicates that his father was named John Bessel and that he was born in Litchfield also. Our family has always told me that this was a French family and that the family came from France by way of Amsterdam. I have been unable to confirm that.
Susannah Jackson, born 1790, was the daughter of Stephen Jackson and Elizabeth Pomeroy. She had three sibs--Martha, Stephen Pomeroy Jackson, and Mary.
My information, like yours, indicates that Elizabeth Anne married Perry Huffman Wolfe. The children I have read about are Melcenia Ann, Sara Ann, David, and Newton Isaac.
Yesterday I read that Melcenia Ann married a man named John Webb Bassel. This information came via an internet forum or bulletin board, and I lost the reference.
There is a biograpy of Stephen G. Jackson at the West Virginia site of Rootsweb.com. It provides a pretty fair genealogy of Susannah Jackson's family back to Robert Jackson, the original English immigrant.
