Considering the age of this inquiry I don't know whether this reply will help you anymore but maybe it could in some way.
I'm related to Fred Batcher and Rosa Batcher Reed through Mary Ann Batcher, Fred's daughter and Rosa's sister. Here is the information I have pertaining to the Batcher/Reed families.
Rosa Batcher Reed
Birth: January 1874
Married: Taylor J. Reed (before 1900)
Taylor J. Reed
Birth: October 1848
Married: Rosa Batcher (before 1900)
Rosa and Taylor were the parents of the following children.
Charles F. Reed (Born in Iowa)
Francis K. Reed (Born in Iowa)
Mary L. Reed (Born in Iowa)
Rosa M. Reed (Born June 1895)
Frank Reed (Born April 1897)
Rosa's mother, Frances (Huber) Batcher became ill in her old age and was taken care of by her daughter Mary until she left Iowa to marry in Oregon. When this happened Frances lived with Rosa and Taylor. Frances (Huber) Batcher was born in Feb 1837. According to a 1900 Iowa census, Frances was sixty-three, widowed, had five children (out of six) living, and had been born in Germany. Another source stated she'd been born February 1837 in Prussia.
Frances (Huber) Batcher's children are listed below according to an 1880 Mahaska County, Iowa Census.
Alexander Batcher (19 in 1880)
Frances Batcher (13 in 1880)
Fred Batcher (10 in 1880)
Mary Batcher (8 in 1880)
Rosa Batcher (6 in 1880)
Katie Batcher (4 in 1880)
Mary Ann Batcher was born 15 Jan 1872 in Eddyville, Iowa. She left for Oregon in September 1912. Rosa sent a few postcards to her in later years which I have in my possession and would be willing to copy if you'd like to see them.
I'm interested in any information that you may have regarding the Batcher/Reed families, if you wouldn't mind sharing it with me that is.
I hope that I've been able to help in some way.
