In early Virginia, there were goodly number of Bate & Batte in Charles City County, Prince George Co., and Amelia Co.
There is reason to believe that Bate, Batte, and Bates of early Virginia were related.Relationship can be proved or disproved by DNA test.Suggesting that Bate and Batte descendant join in the current Bates DNA test.
We have good Baseline of DNA from Bates with "documented" lineage from which descendants of Bate and Batte can seek match.Currently, we have 20 volunteers taking the DNA tests to include immigrants of New England, and immigrants of Virginia.
