There is a Michael Bower (& and later John), and sister Anna “Dorothea” – listed in the Manheim District of Lancaster County – 1770-1790 time period.Dorothea married a Jacob Schwaemmle in about 1769; had a son, Jacob. After her husband died in 1772 she married Johan Jacob “George” Boltz (to become…”Pultz”/”Pulse”) in 1773 andlater moved to Berkeley/Jefferson County [W]Va.
It is not clear from what Bauer / Bower family Michael Bower and his sister, Anna Dorothea, descend. There were multiple Bauer men coming over from Switzerland and Germany to Pennsylvania in the 1700’s.
The Bower’s (notably Henry) that came to Berkeley/Jefferson Counties around the same time that Jacob Swimley came with his Mother and the Boltz family – do not seem to have a direct connection to Dorothea and Michael (but it can’t be ruled out at this point, given the lack of presenting information).
